Skiing at ABR this weekend was at a bit of elevation (1600 feet) compared with the Cities but there were no ill effects. It beat the heck out of some barely-covered forest roads at 7500 feet (cough West Yellowstone cough) and was, oh, five times closer. With many times the pasties.
The coverage was nearly complete (no snowy forest service roads except for GG in Wisconsin on the drive home). There were a couple dirty, thin or icy spots and the downhills on Peltonen and Blueberry are getting hairy but for the snow they have Eric and Angela have done a fine job of getting the terrain open. And the on-trail cabins are fantastic.
Another lake effect dump and they'll be in fat city. Still, not a bad weekend of skiing for November!
